Hundreds of groups across NSW have joined in the fun and
taken part by surveying their local waterway for water bugs.
These keen wrigglers have entered the number caught for each
type of water bug found into the result page on this site.
From their findings a Stream Pollution Index (SPI)
is calculated, which rates the health of that waterway site.
Together, the results form a snapshot that helps to tell
us a story about the health of our waterways across the State.
Why not see how your local waterway rates? If you cant
find a result near where you live, get a group of friends
together for the next survey and discover the health of your
waterway.
You can view the results in two
ways:
View results by map: An on-line mapping
system of NSW allows you to zoom into an area to select a
testing site of interest. Group results can be viewed by clicking
on the site marker appearing on the map.
View results by table: View results
by selecting the catchment then sub-catchment of interest.
